Introducing The Fair Deal Podcast

Because the World Just Doesn't Have Enough Podcasts

I am pleased to announce the first episode of the Fair Deal Democrats Podcast, hosted by yours truly. Our inaugural guest is Evan Brown, an old friend of mine who has had quite the varied career. We met when he was covering Arizona politics and I was the campaign manager for Tim Nelson, who was running for Maricopa County Attorney in 2008.

Evan is a writer, performer, educator, and public affairs strategist. His writing has appeared in The Hill, HuffPost, Politico, and TheOnion.com, among other places. His political work has included a stint as a senior staffer for the DNC, and most recently he served as campaign manager for CT State Representative Nick Gauthier, who unseated a five-term Republican incumbent last November. Evan also appears on stage in CT and RI, and just completed a book on the early history of Southeast CT.

Making this episode was a bit of a challenge, the learning curve for some of the technology is a bit steep for a middle-aged man a little set in his ways. I promise the next episode will be a bit more polished. But the interview itself is quite good.

In this episode, Evan and I discuss the assassination of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark; contrast the No Kings protests with the ICE protests in Los Angeles; and discuss the weird vibes America is giving off these days.

I hope you enjoy listening.
